Air Fried Pumpkin Spice Bananas with Maple Roasted Walnuts

You know I love my air fryer and have become on of those people that tells everyone that they also need one. I decided I wanted to play around and see what non-traditional items I could air fry and see how they turned out. I have had fried bananas in the past so I thought I would see how they would turn out in the air fryer. Spoiler alert, they turned out great. Nice crispy edges with a soft, gooey center.

These are great solo, but I added maple glazed walnuts and paired them with coconut whipped cream and yogurt to compare. These really can be a decadent breakfast or a tasty dessert depending on the mood you are in. Have you ever air fried bananas? What other items have you air fried that turned out great? Ingredients

  • 4 Organic bananas, sliced in 1 inch pieces
  • 1 TBSP Olive oil or Trader Joe’s Vegan Ghee, brushed on bananas
  • Sprinkle TJ’s Pumpkin Pie Spice on each one
  • 4-4 ½ TBSP Walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 4 TBSP Maple syrup (I like TJ’s Bourbon Maple Syrup)
  • Serve with coconut whipped cream, vegan yogurt, or ice cream

  1. Peel and cut bananas into 1-1 ½ inch slices.
  2. Brush each one with olive oil or vegan ghee.
  3. Sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.
  4. Air fry at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes.
  5. While bananas are cooking, add walnuts and maple syrup to a saucepan. Heat to medium heat and stir walnuts until the sauce thickens on the walnuts. Set aside.
  6. Serve cooked bananas alongside yogurt or ice cream, top with maple walnuts, and one final sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. If you don’t want to use yogurt or ice cream, just top the banana and walnuts with coconut whipped cream and PPS.
  7. Serve immediately.
