Cheezy Garlic Croutons
Most store brand croutons have milk or egg in them, so I decided to make my own. These can easily be made with leftover bread you have on hand. Sourdough, French baguette, ciabatta bread, or Italian loaf are all great breads to use for these.
You can switch up the seasonings based off what you have on hand, and I like using a mix of vegan ghee and olive oil. I used the TJ’s Herbes de Provence, but regular olive oil will work. This recipe makes more of an olive paste, so I toss the bread with a spatula, making sure each piece is fully coated in the flavored oil mixture.
I decided to make an air fried batch and an oven baked batch so you can make it either way. Both ways are easy and taste the same. I tend to cut these into large cubes, (about 1 ½-2 inches) because I find smaller cubes get soggy quickly from the dressing. You can store the croutons in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks after baking.
These are quick, easy, and packed full of flavor. You can get delicious croutons in minutes for any salad or soup with this tasty recipe. Let me know if you have ever made croutons before and what you like to put on yours in the comments below.
