Tik Tok Quesadilla Challenge
Good ‘ole Tik Tok. I actually don’t even have an account, but I recently saw the viral challenge of making a quesadilla where each bite has every ingredient equally distributed. It seemed easy enough and I do hate when a burrito or quesadilla isn’t even all over with the ingredients. I made the Mexican one first and it went so well I started experimenting with other versions. I want to make a pizza version and a dessert version and will add to this when I do. Have you made this before? What do you think of it? What versions have you made? I’d love to try out any you have found to be successful. Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for reading,
Jessica
Tik Tok Quesadilla Challenge
Yield: 1
Prep time: 10 MinCook time: 10 MinTotal time: 20 Min
Ingredients
Mexican Quesadilla Ingredients
- 3 TBSP Fiesta Cashew Dip
- 3 TBSP TJ’s Chipotle bean dip (This is the shelf stable one usually with the salsa and chips.)
- 2 TBSP TJ’s garlic spread dip
- 1 TBSP Hatch green chile salsa (top the garlic spread with the green chile salsa)
- 3 TBSP TJ’s soy chorizo
- 1 extra-large TJ’s flour tortilla
Turkey and Apple Quesadilla Ingredients
- 6 Tofurky peppered deli slices
- 8 slices of apple (I like lots of apple on this, but you can do what works for you. I like a semi sweet/tart apple for this like Lucy Glo or Honeycrisp apples)
- 2 slices of Violife smoked provolone
- 3 TBSP TJ’s garlic spread dip
- 1 extra-large TJ’s flour tortilla
Breakfast Quesadilla Ingredients
- 6 Tofurky peppered deli slices
- 1 ½ TJ’s hash brown patties
- 1 Just Egg Eggless patty
- Salt and pepper for the eggless patty
- Sprinkle of black salt for eggless patty (optional)
- 2 slices of Violife smoked provolone
- 1 extra-large TJ’s flour tortilla
Instructions
- All three versions are made the same way. The key is the way you fold them up. First start by cutting the tortilla halfway from the center all the way down. If you think of the tortilla as a clock, cut from the center of the clock down to the 6 o’clock mark. Ingredients are listed above in the order you would lay them out. Use the images as a reference if needed. The first ingredient should be spread out from the 6 o’clock mark to the 9 o’clock mark to the center of the clock. Second ingredient is spread from 9 o’clock to 12 o’clock. Third (and fourth for the Mexican quesadilla) are spread from 12 o’clock to 3 o’clock. Fourth (fifth for the Mexican quesadilla) ingredient spread from 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock.
- **For the breakfast quesadilla, cook the hash browns in an air fryer or oven until crispy. Cook eggless patty in toaster until cooked. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and black salt onto eggless patty. Assemble quesadilla following the remaining steps.
- Once all the ingredients are spread out, carefully take the section that has the first ingredient spread on it and fold it over the second ingredient. Then take that section and fold it over the third section. End but folding that section over the final corner.
- In a panini press, skillet, or pan place the quesadilla on the warmed surface at medium heat. Cook on each side for about five minutes until the cheese is melted and both sides are golden brown.
- Enjoy!
